It’s stand-up comedy meets nervous breakdown as we encounter not only the fragility of the human heart, but also the things that can set it off balance which, in the case of Natalie Gray, involves a consumer grade karaoke machine. Laughter, tears, some toe-tapping music, and an excellent portrayal of the remarkable resilience of the human spirit.

In a true tale that takes us from Birmingham to Los Angeles, with global pit stops in between, Gray spins a majestic verbal tapestry that depicts the sequence of bizarre events that led to her thirst for her own demise. All the brutal details of failed relationships and friendships gone awry are intricately revealed in this heartfelt tale of love, loss, and karaoke.
The one hour show also takes us through worlds rarely dealt with such as the fascinating worlds of fine art and footwear (Gray’s abstract art is sold internationally and she had a ten year stint as a shoe designer!) With plot points ranging from designing shoes for Playboy, to falling out with your best friend from being overly possessive of a song by Doris Day, the oddities of our ways and world take centre stage.
Death By Karaoke portrays honestly the pain that so often accompanies the creative life and explores how one can find salvation through a bar full of patrons overlooking their differences through the uniting force of Neil Diamond.
Death By Karaoke has laughter, tears, some toe-tapping music, and an excellent portrayal of the remarkable resilience of the human spirit.
